A founding member of The Wolfeboro Classic and renowned bocce aficionado, Bob ("The Baron") Barone was noted for the extreme accuracy of his volo, the aerial delivery of a bocce ball. During his long bocce career, "The Baron" won numerous awards and attained international status as a result of his many tournament victories. He was also the official chronicler of the annual Classic and the conservator of its heritage, traditions, symbols and memorabilia.
